I wanted to thank the thousands of folks around the world who have listened to and spread the word about New Normal Music for four great years. Our program director and co-creator has moved on and without his specific music expertise, it's impossible to continue the format.
New Normal Music was our company's first experiment in internet streaming, to see how viable it was for a small company such as ours to operate reliably on a 24/7 basis, and in that regard, it was a huge success. We will miss it at least as much as you will.
We have very warm feelings and memories of launching New Normal Music, of our launch party in Hollywood in 2010, of the artists we met, of our trips to SXSW, and most importantly, of the music we were able to introduce to people like you.
We have begun our transition to a new format which, importantly, will be able to pay its own bills, which is the reality of any music format, whether on terrestrial radio or on the internet. Among the costs of operating a stream such as this are music licensing, bandwidth, and servers. Record labels that enjoy the exposure of streams such as New Normal Music should step up and support these ventures with advertising dollars, but the reality is that they don't. The losers will be the artists themselves as well as those who are always looking for new artists and new music.
Thank you for being a follower of New Normal Music, whose name will live on as the name of the company that owns our three surviving music streams, New Normal Rock, Pure Pop Hits, and All New Country. We are happy to answer any questions or respond to any concerns if you will post them right here.
